1. Apollo Coffee Bar

The latest venture from the people who brought us Assembly Coffee and Atlas Coffeehouse, Apollo Coffee Bar is quickly becoming the most happening hangout in the north-east. The Mediterranean-inspired menu specialises in creative small and large sharing plates, while brunch offerings include Wurst Rosti, Breakfast Burger, and Lemon Curd and Hotcakes. A table at the highly Instagrammable courtyard provides relaxing al fresco vibes while being comfortably air-conditioned.

Located within Goldhill Shopping Centre, Kamome Bakery is a quintessential Japanese bakery just a stone’s throw from Novena MRT station. Be greeted by aromas from the oven and displays of a wide variety of sweet and savoury bakes and chilled sandwiches. You won’t be able to resist the uniquely Japanese Red Bean Butter, Banana and Brown Sugar, or Pork Katsu Sandwich. Hot off the menu, the unassuming Kamome Breakfast and homely Beef Stew are must-tries.

You can’t go wrong with Big Breakfast or Classic Eggs Benedict, both substantial brunch staples. The Classic Carbonara is another hot favourite, along with their signature alcohol-infused desserts. An extension of MOD Hair Salon, MOD Café was originally designed to provide salon guests with a chillout space before or after hair treatments. Unsurprisingly, considering the quality gourmet coffee, premium teas and creative tea mocktails that accompany a very credible menu. The All Day Waffle Breakfast Set and Shiitake Mushroom Pie with greens are must-tries.
